Hey Gamers,
I have been in this situation more than once. The college student's need for cash is ever looming over our shoulders. If you find yourself pinched for cash, look through that library of games you own and part with one or two that you have either completed completely or one you are not fond of playing anymore, or just one you could do without.
Head off to your nearest GameStop or talk to a friend who has your system and see if he/she would be interested in taking it off your hands for a fair price.

Medal of Honor looks promising!
Well with the release of the new Medal of Honor game, I have to say I'm excited! It looks like an updated version of Battlefield Bad Company 2 which makes me extremely happy.
BFBC2 was a very good 1st person shooter. The game mechanics were flawless, gravity was taken into effect, and the spawn system was amazing. If these things are kept in MOH, expect nothing but praise from me.
Cheers!

Back to Shooter Basics
I started doing some thinking about other shooters (I'm trying not to OD on Halo Reach) such as MW2 and Bad Company 2. And I thought "Wow... those games I remember are good!"
so here is my advice for the week. Take a breather from Reach so it still stays nice and fresh. Play another game for a day or two and seal in that HALO freshness :)
Cheers

Really.... You didn't see it coming?
Alright... So I'm starting to get peaved at the people who have been playing Campaign on Reach and don't expect the ending. I will not spoil it but here is something to reflect upon as you play:
Reach WILL Fall. You knew it from the beginning. Now, How it falls... you need to stay open minded about it. Otherwise, your mouth will fall open and you will more than likely complain. DON'T COMPLAIN! ROLL WITH IT!

Halo Reach Fever!
Well.... Halo Reach has without a doubt has kicked off with a very large BANG! I personally haven't had much time with the game being busy with many extracurriculars at my campus but I have the itch to get cracking. I've been playing some of the Campaign which has caught my attention and is holding it with an iron grip. I checked a little bit of the multi-player and I like what I see so far. Point system through game play to buy new equipment for your character (after meeting some requirements) is a great idea. Give's gamers the ability to work for exactly what they want.
More to come after I get my fair share of Halo Reach Fever. :)

PS3 Relapse.
So as I was saying last time, Xbox360 seems to be the choice for most campus gamers. But when making your decision about whether to trade in or not, consider this: Are you going to miss it? Xbox360 does have a more social gaming feel to it compared to the PS3 but the real question is "are you happy with what you have?" because if you are, DON'T TRADE IN! It's a common mistake to do something based on the thought that you will be happier than you already are with what you have. This, about 95% of the time is a mistake. Do not trade in unless you are completely sure about what you are doing.
Now if you will excuse me, I have a PS3 to recover

PS3 in an Xbox360 Campus
Well... I'm in a predicament here on my campus that I am sure many campus gamers are also having. That predicament would be having the opposite gaming platform the majority of your campus has. I would like to go through some pros and cons that I personally have been considering that will impact if I sell my PS3 (yes I am an avid Play Station player) to buy an Xbox360.
Let's get down to it!
*PS3*
Pros:
-the BIGGEST thing for me: Free Online Play
-You don't have to pay $50 a year to play online. Enough said.
-Cheap (but a high quality) BlueRay player.
-All you movie buffs out there know what I mean :) And I have even heard it works better than a regular BlueRay player.
Cons:
-Heavy update download and install times
-No one likes waiting 30-45 mins just for an update.
-Not easy to upgrade HDD
-Big game titles that don't have PS3 contract
-Halo games, L4D, etc
-3rd Party game servers
-Game servers run by 3rd parties don't run as smoothly as they should
*Xbox360*
Pros:
-Lots of online features with Xbox Live
-Many game titles that are cross platform and many that are Xbox Specific
-Online servers maintained by Microsoft
-Quick updates for games
-Easy upgradeable HDD
-Potential 2 player online per console (Halo)
Cons:
-Pay $50 a year to play online
-Why would you do that?!?
-No BlueRay player
-but DVD's are alright too.
-Red Ring of Death 0.o
-not sure if it's much of a problem anymore but it did cause major issues
Final Judgement: If Xbox360 Dominates your campus, break down and buy it. In reality, $50 bucks a year isn't really that bad.
Well that's really all I can think of. If you do think of more Pros and Cons for either then please comment and tell me.

College is a Gamer's Paradise
For all you freshmen out there just stepping onto your new campus, congratulations! You will make lots of friends and experience many things!
Now for all you freshman gamers out there stepping onto a college campus, a word of advice: Make IT at your campus your BEST FRIEND. If you are as big a gamer as I am, you will need all the help you can get to get around your campus' network (normally, gamers start out on a "strict" NAT type which makes joining online games difficult. IT can put you on a gaming network that has less restrictions than that off the normal network).
Wire in and get gaming. More posts to come soon.
